In the beginning
Daniel Island Animal Hospital was founded in 2004 by veterinarian, Dr. Lynne M. Flood, to provide convenient, personalized care to the many family pets who share the homes, parks, and trails of our island town. Over the years we have enjoyed growing with our community: forming a skilled and compassionate team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
After 8 years of practice, it became clear we needed some extra room to continue to deliver our established standard of patient care and client service. In 2013, we moved into our expanded and renovated hospital which provided a larger reception area, cat-only exam room, consultation room, quiet area for hospitalized patients, designated room for dentistry, and a second administrative office.
Also in 2013, Dr. Flood founded DIAH on Wheels, a non-profit that provides free food and veterinary care for the pets of low-income, homebound seniors in the Greater Charleston area.
In January of 2020, Dr. Flood and her husband, Richard, handed over the practice ownership reigns to their associate, Dr. Matthew Hosking. The Floods were exemplary business leaders and we are deeply grateful for all they have done in service of their employees and community. We are excited to support Dr. Hosking in his new role and entrust him to usher the practice into the next generation of leadership with matched heart, passion, and commitment.
