DIAH on Wheels
Caring for Seniors in Need
Founded by Dr. Lynne Flood in 2013, DIAH on Wheels is a mobile charity providing free basic veterinary care for the pets of low income, home bound seniors in the Greater Charleston area.
Dr. Flood and her technician, Pam, travel throughout the lowcountry once weekly to visit the homes of our clients aiming to keep their pets current on wellness examinations and vaccines and supplied with parasite prevention, chronic medications, and pet food. We also provide surgical services including spays, neuters, and medically necessary dentals. Currently, we serve approximately 200 pets annually for our neighbors in need.
Our mission was fueled by Dr. Flood’s passion to care for aging pets and their people; helping them feel better for longer. We know how much joy, love, and companionship an animal can provide as well as promoting a more active lifestyle for their owners. DIAH on Wheels is our way of spreading that joy by doing our part to keep pets healthy and happy, diminishing the financial burden pet ownership can bring, and in turn improving the quality of life for those who care for them.
We are partnered with several area senior service providers including Berkeley Seniors, East Cooper Meals on Wheels, Canterbury House, and Sherman House. For pet owners looking for a referral to our charity but not currently connected to a senior agency, please contact Linda Naert at Trident Area Agency on Aging for financial qualification: 843-554-2276.
